my story
My name is Orion Clements and I'm the founder of Kingfisher Birth Services. This business was originally started in 2024 under a different name, Clements Doula Services. However, as I continued to pursue this career, I began to learn more about myself, my own philosophies as a doula, and what I wanted this service to look like in the years to come. All that led to a shift in re-branding and re-thinking what I wanted this business to look like.
Before birth work, I dabbled in both the environmental science realm and college ministry. From 2021-2023, I worked as a campus pastor for a community college in the Collin County area, and then jumped into working as a project manager for an environmental lab until the birth of my son in 2024. As a campus pastor, one of my favorite parts was when I was able to come alongside college students in the midst of their hard situations and be someone who saw them despite all their junk-much like how Jesus does with us. During my time as a project manager, I realized how much I missed this. However, I knew going back into college ministry was not my preference at the time. This led me into discovering the career path of becoming a birth and bereavement doula-becoming someone who was an emotional, physical, and even sometimes spiritual support to those going through an extremely vulnerable time of pregnancy, labor, and loss.
Beyond running this business, I'm a proud wife to my husband, Connor, and a proud mom to my son, Isaac. We are a Jesus pursuing, nature loving family that you can guarantee is getting into some sort of laughable mischief within the week. Personally, in my downtime, you can find me attempting to teach myself how to watercolor, geeking out over birth and birds, or enjoying Chick-Fil-A with a friend while my kid runs around the playground.
